Student Leadership Development
Student Leadership Development

At Angsana Primary School, we believe every child can be a leader. Our student leadership programme provides platforms for students to learn, practise and showcase their leadership qualities, in line with our school vision: A Community of Curious Minds and Serving Hearts.
Through their leadership journey, students will grow to be leaders who…
• reflect and improve themselves with self awareness.
• overcome challenges with resilience and confidence.
• work well with others as collaborative team players.
• share ideas clearly and confidently as effective communicators. These outcomes are supported by the 7 Habits (Leader in Me) framework, which helps students develop independence, teamwork, and self leadership progressively across their six years in Angsana.
The 3Es Approach We nurture leadership through three key steps:
• Equip: Students are taught leadership habits and skills through lessons, enrichment programmes, and training sessions. Teachers provide strong support to help them succeed.
• Empower: Students are given opportunities to lead in class, school events, and community projects. Leadership roles are rotated in the lower levels (P1–P2), while upper levels (P3–P6) receive briefings and training to take on more responsibilities.
• Engage: Students apply their skills in authentic settings such as VIA projects, peer support initiatives, CCAs, camps, and school events.
Progressive Development
• Leadership training is introduced gradually from self management, to leading others, and finally to serving the community.
• All P3 to 6 student leaders undergo specialised training with external trainers, including team building activities and design thinking techniques. These sessions challenge them to step out of their comfort zones and practise exemplary leadership. Our students learn that leadership is not about titles, but about service, responsibility, and influence.
